ਪੀ. ਅੜ. ਕੌਰ ਗਿਬਨਜ਼ = P. R. Kaur Gibbons
I am a (mostly) self-taught amateur artist. I enjoy working with colour and generally use watercolour painting, crayons, colouring pens and pencils, and collage.
I studied Art A-level and attempted Architecture School. For various reasons, this didn’t work out and I ended up studying Applied Linguistics and became an English-language teacher. I now work in Higher Education teaching academic skills at a London university.

As an adult I kept my connection to the art world by visiting exhibitions. I started keeping holiday paraphernalia and created memory (sketch)books. This progressed to taking a watercolour set on holidays and my connection to art was reignited. In 2020, I reconnected with art-making through online art classes and became reunited with collage: trying to make sense of what was going on and I filled countless sketchbooks. In mid 2020, I started sharing my stuff online on Instagram.

In 2021 and 2022, I continued filling my sketchbooks with stuff using acrylic paints and collaging from various magazines and ephemeral items. In 2023, I made more stuff to deal with a mental health crisis and I can honestly say that my art saved me. I used arcylics, watercolour, pencil, pens, found packaging, dirt, leaves, and anything I could create with. So, in 2024, I started thinking about a website and in 2025 I set up this website. I hope you enjoy exploring.
I was diagnosed with Bipolar 2 in February 2021. My episodes are often a source of energy to make a variety of art works but this can come with its consequences. I cannot focus on one medium when I am in an episode, which can become overwhelming for me to manage. When I am out of the episode, I am trying to process what happened to me through art-making and try to enjoy the process as much as possible.
I was lucky enough to showcase some of my art pieces in a local community exhibition in 2024.
Here’s me with one of my artworks that was exhibited:

I made this during my 2023 episode. I drew the composition en plein air at a local community garden. I then coloured the piece in using pencil and glitter pens.
I make a variety of stuff, mostly to cope with the struggles in my mind and make sense of my world. I enjoy making artworks that fill me with joy. I also reuse lots of stuff to make new stuff. I like the zine format and often use this format for visual storytelling.
I was born in London, UK. I have Punjabi roots. I explore the Gurmukhi script and Punjabi language in my art work.
